Ana Lucia’s passion for optometry is deeply rooted in her love for helping others. She finds immense satisfaction in sharing her knowledge and educating people about the importance of eye care. When asked why she chose to open her clinic, Ana Lucia explained that life is full of cycles, and she felt ready for a change. With the encouragement of her partner, Alejandro Lara, who is also an optometrist, Ana Lucia decided to take the leap and start her own business. Together, they are now dedicated to providing top-notch visual care to the community of Jacó and its surrounding areas.
The Story Behind the Clinic
Ana Lucia’s clinic officially opened its doors on June 26, 2024, and is located right next to the Garabito Municipality in Jacó. The clinic offers a wide range of services, including eye exams for both children and adults, contact lens fittings, visual consultations, and a selection of eyeglasses and sunglasses. Additionally, the clinic provides referrals to specialists in ophthalmology, ocular prosthetics, and visual therapy. What sets Ana Lucia’s clinic apart is the warm and welcoming atmosphere she and her team have created. They are genuinely excited to receive their patients and always strive to provide a pleasant experience, complete with a cup of coffee and a warm embrace.
Interestingly, the process of opening the clinic was smooth and free of major challenges. Everything seemed to fall into place naturally, allowing Ana Lucia to focus on providing excellent care from the beginning. One of the most significant achievements since opening has been the overwhelming support from the Jacó community and its surrounding areas.
A Personal Touch
Reflecting on her decision to open the clinic, Ana Lucia shared a conversation she had with Dr. Alejandro Lara: “He asked me, ‘Do you want to stay where you are for another 10 years?’ That question motivated me to step out of my comfort zone and create this beautiful project that now welcomes everyone with open arms.” Outside of her professional life, Ana Lucia enjoys staying active with morning walks on the beach and hikes to El Miro. She also loves spending time with her dog, Doky, attending social events with friends, going to concerts, traveling, and cherishing moments with her family and Alejandro. Ana Lucia Hernandez Vargas is an accomplished optometrist and a visionary who has created a space where the community can receive exceptional eye care.
